Part séance, part play, The Witches is an immersive, hallucinatory reliving of Macbeth's journey through ritual, magic, and manipulation.
The New Collectives began work on The Witches in February 2014. We produced a successful workshop run, in August 2014. After an awesome fundraising event in April 2015, we were able to raise enough funds to stage a fully produced remount October 2015.
The remount production is directed and adapted by Valerie Redd, inspired by Eric Powell Holm’s adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The New Collectives produced in association with Wandering Bark Theatre Company.
The Witches was our inaugural piece as a company and we couldn't be more proud.

"Not every actor is equipped to do Shakespeare. Fortunately, the ensemble of The Witches was more than capable. The sextet tackled the dialogue with ease. While Macbeth is the focal character of the source material, it was the witches in this production that stood out. They were in sync as a unit but when they broke out into characters, they shined individually. " "Macbeth has been done to death but when a new perspective is granted, it can be rewarding. The Witches is a striking production that tickles the horror-lover in us all." -Theater in the Now (Review: A Shakespearean Seance) Meet the Creative Team Behind the Magic of THE WITCHES -Theater in the Now |
